About Us
We set off in June 2023, armed with a questionable budget, too many red pens, and the sort of optimism that usually gets horror-movie characters killed first.
The Stygian Lepus Magazine was never meant to be sensible. It began as a collective of writers, editors, and artists who couldn’t quite stop poking at the shadows. Now it’s a monthly showcase of dark fiction, poetry, and art — a place where nightmares stretch their legs, and beauty and rot hold hands.
We run entirely on volunteer fuel (and caffeine). Every issue is built between day jobs, midnight edits, and the occasional existential crisis. The goal? To give writers a professional, beautifully produced home for their weirdest, most haunting work — without gatekeeping, pretension, or selling our souls to corporate eldritch entities.
We publish because we love it. We publish because you read it.
And with a bit of luck (and your kind offerings of coffee, ink, and maybe the occasional sacrificial biscuit), we’ll keep the lights flickering for a long time yet.
Welcome to the warren.
